Abstraction of the post-war period

Fritz Schaefler

Shortly before his death in the 1950s, Schaefler once again turned to abstraction in his painting, which he had repeatedly used before 1937 in designs for stained glass windows and occasionally in his paintings. The non-representational paintings bear witness to a colour-intensive movement.
